Assistant Manager,

LightHarvest Solar needs an assistant manager.  We're growing fast and I need to train someone into my job so that I can move forward and grow the company. Full time, 10-5, 5 days a week, open Monday through Saturday. We need a solar geek that is very proficient with Ohms Law, good with people, hard working and willing to do whatever is needed to get the job done. Hoping to find someone coming out of school looking for a career. We are a unique, off-grid solar retail store where we design D.I.Y. kits and maintain our web store. Located in the Green Anchors property in the St. Johns neighborhood of North Portland, with an amazing view of the St. Johns Bridge and a fun and thriving culture.

 For this position, I need someone who can do everything, like:

 -Loading solar panels into customers cars safely.

-Answering the phone and helping people assess their solar projects.

-Helping customers design their solar kits.

-Stocking products in an organized and accurate manner.

-Anything and everything else that gets done in a store.


Valued skills (in order from most important to least):

  • Interested in Solar!

  • Competent and organized in everything you do.

  • Fluent in electricity.

  • Hard working, reliable, trustworthy, and willing to do what it takes to get it done.

  • Personable and able to interact well with customers.

  • Experience in a retail store/sales.

  • The ability to help people understand how solar works and how to properly install their system.

  • Able to understand and conform to product specifications.

  • Good at building/fixing/making things.

  • Proficient with posting media like FB, You Tube, Craigslist, Website upkeep, taking photos, etc.


This is an assistant manager position with responsibility, pay is dependent on experience. I give raises fast if you work hard and know your stuff. We are hoping to find someone looking to learn all things solar, who wants to help grow the company and their salary.
